Physical Modeling in Academia
With MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape, educators can use modeling and simulation with 3D visualization to engage students with realistic examples and make classroom theory come alive. This approach helps students studying applications such as renewable energy, robotics, and biomechanics develop confidence in problem solving, analysis, programming, and design. Such hands-on learning with industry-standard tools serves as a foundation throughout their careers and makes them attractive to prospective employers.
Even when not required, my friends and I would explore Simulink models to better understand how they worked and how they related to what we learned in class.
