Jon Bennett

Jon Bennett, MBDA UK Ltd.
Jon Bennett is a capability lead within MBDA Missile Systems. He is currently responsible for the definition of a collaborative environment for deployment across the entire MBDA engineering population, aimed at supporting the project delivery teams. He has a particular interest in the systems and software domain.

In previous roles, Jon has been responsible for a team of 30 software technologists and experts, both nationally and internationally across the U.K., France, and Italy. Before this, Jon was responsible for a large command and control software development programme for a naval air-defence system. Prior to joining MBDA, Jon spent two years as a systems and software consultant in the rail and defence sectors, specialising in the definition and application of high-integrity techniques and methodologies.

Dave Higham, Delphi Diesel Systems
Dave Higham is head of functional safety at Delphi Diesel Systems responsible for the alignment of process and products to requirements of functional safety. He is also a member of the ISO 26262 U.K. working group. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the design, implementation, and management of automotive powertrain and infotainment systems and software. He has a B.Eng. in electrical and electronic engineering from Coventry University and is a chartered engineer and MIET.

 

Pierre Lionne, APSYS
Pierre Lionne manages a team of 45 CASSIDIAN APSYS engineers in Europe who are experts in system software and hardware process assurance. He has worked in the field of embedded aeronautic software since 1996. Pierre has been involved in an expert capacity in various projects on behalf of software manufacturers' process assurance, in addition to activities for equipment suppliers worldwide with regard to DO-178/ED-12, and support activities to meet requirements of the certification authorities. Pierre started developing real-time applications (simulation, telemetry, communication) in 1984 before moving into software quality (definition and deployment of quality initiatives). Pierre is co-chairman of the Joint RTCA SC205 and EUROCAE WG72 Model-Based Development Subgroup.

 

Darren Sexton, Ricardo UK Ltd.
Darren Sexton is a principal engineer at Ricardo, working in the areas of safety engineering and software engineering. He supports projects within Ricardo and for clients with both safety engineering and model-based development software process and is particularly interested in the efficient delivery of verification and validation activities. He has worked primarily in automotive and off-highway applications. Darren has an M.Sc. in safety-critical systems engineering from the University of York and a B.Sc. in computer science from Loughborough University.

Andrew Bennett

Andrew Bennett, MathWorks
Andrew is a principal engineer at MathWorks. He leads projects in the defence and energy sectors, focusing on large dynamic system simulations and Model-Based Design. Prior to joining MathWorks, he worked at National Grid and the University of Bath. Andrew has a B.Eng. in electrical engineering with applied electronics and a Ph.D. in power systems modelling and control from the University of Bath.

Mirko Conrad

Mirko Conrad, MathWorks
Mirko manages the Simulink Certification and Standards team at MathWorks. Among other responsibilities, he was project manager for the certification of Embedded Coder, Simulink Verification and Validation, and Simulink Design Verifier for usage in development processes that need to comply with IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and related standards. His team is responsible for the development of MathWorks certification and qualification kits. Mirko started his professional career in the automotive industry in 1995 and joined MathWorks in 2006. He participated in the standardization efforts for ISO 26262, MISRA-AC, and DO-178C. Mirko holds a Ph.D. in engineering and an M.Sc. in computer science from Technical University in Berlin, Germany, and is a visiting lecturer at Humboldt University in Berlin.

David Maclay

David Maclay, MathWorks
David is a member of the MathWorks development team working in the code generation area. He has played a key role in creating the software and processor-in-the-loop infrastructure and has a particular interest in code coverage and execution profiling. Prior to his current role, he worked on control algorithm design, systems simulation, and real-time software development for automotive powertrain control, helicopter flight control systems, industrial hydraulics, marine electrical power systems, and other applications. David holds an M.A. from the University of Cambridge, where he studied mathematics and electrical and information sciences.

Mark Walker

Mark Walker, MathWorks
As a member of the Pilot Engineering team at MathWorks, Mark works with customers deploying MathWorks products in production software environments and specialises in high-integrity embedded applications. Prior to joining MathWorks in 2006, Mark worked as a consultant in the automotive industry, developing high-integrity control software. Mark has an M.A. and M.Eng. in electrical engineering from the University of Cambridge.
